Friday, November 3 & Saturday, November 4, 2023

(This is the eighth original Sherlock Holmes play written by local playwright Anne Chlovechok)

 

Join your fellow partners in crime on Friday evening for the first act. Start to formulate your theories as Holmes and Watson set about solving the case.

Act II takes place the following morning when you match your theories to the local authorities and London’s unofficial police detective. Continue your quest on Saturday afternoon as you search for clues throughout our quaint community.

The mystery will be solved after Act III Saturday evening. Turn in your clue sheet for an opportunity to win the grand prize of $250!

Stroll Wheeling Avenue from 6th to 11th Streets to learn about the Victorian era by reading the plaques at the base of each of the 96 Dickens scenes.

#9 Chocolate Walk

Location: Wheeling Ave.

Our most popular event will be offered Thursday, November 9, 2023. Participants will walk the streets of historical downtown Cambridge and receive a chocolate treat from all participating businesses.

Tickets are $25. You will chose either 5 pm or 6:00 pm when you purchase your ticket. Tickets go sale at the Welcome Center 708 Wheeling Ave.,  Wednesday, 10/25 5pm

#10 Opening Ceremony

Location: Downtown Cambridge
Date: 11/05/2023
Time: 6 pm to 7pm

Guernsey County Courthouse, Wheeling Ave. Saturday, November 4, 2023  6pm. This is the official start to our 2-month holiday attraction. Local dignitaries will greet everyone followed by live entertainment. The evening will conclude with a candle lighting ceremony. Reception offered at the downtown Guernsey County Library, located behind the courthouse. All are invited!

There will be festivities in downtown Cambridge all day.

9:00 - Giddy Up and Joe will be downtown.

10:00 and 2:00 Cemetery Tours

2-4:30. Valerie Hamill Presentation located at the VCB. Valerie will share some of the holiday traditions of the time

2:00 - 6:00 Bethel’s Backyard Circus located on N. 7th Street. Face painting, juggling and goats.

2:00 - 4:00 Akron Bagpipe Band will perform in front of the Dickens Welcome Center

2-4:30 Elizabeth Reeb will stroll in period attire and engage folks in history.

Holiday open houses in the shops downtown.

Dickens Holiday Stroll where participants collect stickers from participating downtown businesses. After the stroll, the completed form will be turned into the Welcome Center. A winner will be drawn and announced at the Library Open House.

Guapos Tacos , Rock Dogs and Kettle Corn will be available.

Vendors will be offering their wares on Southgate Parkway from 11-6.

Possibly Sweet Adelines strolling and singing.

4:30-5:30 Cambridge Singers perform in front of Black Cat

5:00. Awards for the runners and walkers on the Courthouse steps

6:00 Opening Ceremony and candle lighting

6:30. Courthouse Light Show

6:30. Reception at the Guernsey County Library

#11 Queen's Tea
