Thank you for the 1,000 hours of volunteer service logged each season!

The need for volunteer services is constant and ever changing for such an exciting and growing project of this magnitude.

MOVING DAY!

Monday, Oct. 31, 2011, is MOVING DAY! Volunteers are needed to help move each of the scenes from Edgetech Manufacturing in east Cambridge to downtown Cambridge. The moving process begins at 9 a.m. Anyone who can attend and bring a flat bed truck to help with the transportation would be appreciated. Assistance setting up the scenes at downtown locations is also needed. Contact Jonett Haberfield at 740-432-8789 for more details.

Publicity: Speak to groups about the Dickens Victorian Village project, organize information distribution at local events such as the Salt Fork Arts & Crafts Festival.

Mannequins/Props: Building skills needed to repair and refresh mannequins and scene components.

Art: Create and Restore: Creation of individual mannequin heads and seasonal repairs.

Ambassador Program: Outgoing individuals who would like to help at the Dickens Welcome Center and also meet and greet motorcoach groups to provide interesting facts about our project and the area. Ambassadors will be provided with costumes and training. A flexible schedule is helpful.

Marketing & Advertising: Need for a creative writer who can write an e-newsletter, using a template, to communicate interesting and up-to-date information and announcements to potential visitors, community members, and interested people who register for the newsletter from our website. Computer and internet experience is required.

Kids' Activities: Create and organize various Dickens-appropriate children's activities throughout the season.

DONATE SERVICES

MOVING DAY

The Dickens Victorian Village mannequins will be moved from their creative housing at Edgetech Manufacturing to their seasonal homes on Wheeling Avenue on Monday, Oct. 31, 2011.

Needed are: flat bed trucks; strong manpower; and volunteers to hang pine roping and wreaths on the fencing and attach white plastic snow to platforms. Volunteers should bring along a heavy-duty staple gun.

TUESDAY NIGHT WORK SESSIONS

The "Tuesday night work sessions" are announced via email to interested volunteers. Sessions for refreshing the mannequins take place at Edgetech Manufacturing in East Cambridge. Volunteers are needed and welcome! For more information, contact Cindy Arent, 740-439-4582 or Bob Ley, 740-439-2060.
